Online Trial Simulators

TrialDesign.org

A suite of web-based, interactive applications widely used for early-phase design simulation. It features:

  • BOIN (Bayesian Optimal Interval Design): Models and simulates single-agent, backfill, and combination phase I dose-escalation trials.

  • BOP2 Suite: Web tools to simulate Bayesian optimal phase II clinical trials with complex, co-primary endpoints and multi-arm randomization.

  • TITE-BOIN / TOP: Simulators accommodating time-to-event outcomes with real-time "go/no-go" interim decision-making

Clinical Trial Risk Tool

Clinical Trial Risk Tool: An open-source, web-based NLP tool developed by Fast Data Science. While less about statistical modeling, users upload raw clinical trial protocols to instantly simulate and predict the structural risk of a trial failing to deliver informative results due to bad sample sizing or endpoint choices.

There is a free version with limits.

HECT

HECT (Highly Efficient Clinical Trials Simulator): An open-access web application built on RShiny (mtek.shinyapps.io/hect) tailored for planning and simulating complex, multi-arm platform adaptive trials. It maps out Bayesian posterior probabilities, response-adaptive allocations, and stopping rules for continuous or binary outcomes.

MedianaDesigner

MedianaDesigner: A cloud-based simulation tool (cloud.mediana.us) designed to help both statisticians and non-statisticians simulate late-stage trials. It features modular workflows for simulating adaptive data-driven sample sizes, futility stopping rules, and response-adaptive randomizations.
